Changing from the standard Van Diemen clutch release on my Ford to a Tilton. I am having trouble though figuring out if it will fit.
I have taken measurements and to me it seems like the new system is not going to fit. When I measure from the back of the engine to the fingers on the clutch, that distance is greater than the distance from the front of the bellhousing to the start of the release bearing (by .3-.4"). To me, this tells me that when I put the car together the bearing will already be pushing on the clutch and possibly causing problems. Any tips out there or ideas to what I am doing wrong?
