Sunoco Hard Charger Award for North American F1000 Championship Announced For 2017

(February 7, 2017) – Sunoco has signed on with The North American Formula 1000 Championship to present The Sunoco Hard Charger Award. The Sunoco Hard Charger Award is a $200 cash prize award that will be presented at each race to the registered North American Formula 1000 Championship driver that advances the most positions during the race from their official qualifying position.

Sunoco, a Fortune 100 Company founded in 1886 with headquarters in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, produces petroleum and petrochemical based products worldwide. Sunoco, in its capacity as a fuel supplier is actively involved in supporting and sponsoring many forms of auto racing and is currently the official fuel supplier for the IndyCar Series and The NASCAR Cup Series.

The North American Formula 1000 Championship is an motor racing competition where drivers compete in purpose-built high-performance Formula 1000 race cars and Formula 2000 converted race cars powered by 1000cc motorcycle engines, with top speeds in excess of 150 MPH. Competitors compete for championship points based on in-class finishing positions at selected SCCA Major events.
