Two wheels off at Turn 9, Willow Springs

T9 at Willow Springs.....what can I say.

Just a friendly reminder to everyone that if you go two wheels off coming out of turn 9 to keep the car straight and do not try to re enter the track until you have all 4 wheels on the pavement at the entry to the pit entrance. See the photo below.

If you try to come back on early, you will spin and cross traffic at very high speed as what happened in the accident during the FF race this Saturday that sent a driver to the hospital and damaged three cars.

Your initial impulse will be to try to get all four wheels back up on the pavement. All the skid marks crossing the track are testimony to all who have made this mistake. Again see photo...... You will have to fight the wheel and to a little off-roading to keep the car straight due to all the traction shifting to the right tires. More than likely you will be travelling well over 95 mph. I have gone two wheels off there three times myself at that speed.

I bring this up because this recovery is not taught very well in any of the driver's schools, and many have to find out about it the hard way......

Drive safe... :checkered:
